Waste Management

Waste Management

The issue of waste management has never been resolved, as the population density has made people's consumption even higher. The latest research by Sustainable Waste Indonesia (SWI) reveals that 24 percent of waste in Indonesia is still not managed. This is still a big job for all Indonesian, Including the district government.

The waste management program carried out by districts of LTKL member is in line with the efforts and results in achieving the national goals which are 30% of waste reduction and 70% of waste handling by 2025; and efforts that encourage the implementation of an integrated waste management system from upstream to downstream (source to waste disposal site) in each district. This program will involve the active role of the community in increasing understanding and awareness (about waste management) as the key to behavior change. In addition, a verified and accurate system-based waste management system is also the main key to the ongoing sustainable waste management program.
