Prevention of Forest and Peatland Fires

Prevention of Forest and Peatland Fires

Forest and peatland fires are serious problems that Indonesia must face every dry season. Forest and land fires have become regional and global disasters because their impacts have spread to neighboring countries. The combustion gases emitted to the atmosphere (such as CO2) have the potential to cause global warming.

In order to realize a sustainable district, forest and land fires must be prevented, not just put out. The districts of LTKL that have chosen to prevent forest and land fires have started with various programs, such as increasing the capacity and number of the Fire Care Community and developing sustainable commodities that depend on the surrounding forests.
