Sigi is a unique district with forest coverage of almost 70% of its total area. There are at least 3 commodities that are superior, namely cocoa, coffee, and coconut, where some commodities are planted by taking advantage of the forest cover. With a large forest area, Sigi also intensively promotes ecotourism. Starting from Lore Lindu National Park to paragliding sport which is continued to be developed.
Encouraging sustainable production and marketing of strategic commodities in the whole supply chain through the development of community-based enterprises including but not limited to BUMDES and MSMEs;
Compiling a database of potential commodity maps, products, locations, and business management entities (MSMEs & BUMDES) in the strategic commodity supply chain;
Encouraging the development and improvement of MSME capacity and BUMDES as a driving force for sustainable commodity supply development;
Development of mechanisms for promotion and expansion of market networks through innovative methods such as participating in Business Meetings, Online Markets, etc .;
Encouraging downstream production and product diversification of superior commodities including the practice of Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) and the support of appropriate technology; and
Improving the mechanism of quality control related to products, packaging, marketing, trash & waste management and supply chain management.
Social Forestry and Agrarian Reform
The Integration of Agrarian Reform in the RPJMD, especially in establishing village boundaries with protected forest areas and encouraging community-based forest management schemes
Conservation and Restoration
GREEN SIGI ECOTOURISM "Explore Green Sigi"
Encouraging environment-based tourism that supports the protection of forest cover, natural potential and biodiversity while simultaneously increasing the income of the people in the villages so that it becomes the motivation to encourage environmental protection done directly by the community.
Preparing a database of tourism potentials 'Explore Green Sigi' in the form of maps and narratives, including but not limited to Lore Lindu National Park, Paragliding, Hot Springs and the development of the KEHATI Park;
Developing a strategy for communication and promotion of "Explore Green Sigi", one of which is through a cooperation with travel agencies;
Capacity building for village-based ecotourism management to develop the potential of local HR in providing ecotourism supporting goods & services including through environmental services (example: clean water retribution);
Identification and preparation of infrastructure investment targets to improve access and provide accommodation & transportation to support ecotourism.
Renewable Energy and Electricity.
CLEAN & RENEWABLE ENERGY:
Legal umbrella & licensing procedures for clean and renewable energy;
Strategic Planning for Clean and Renewable Energy for Sigi District (including energy needs and potential for electrification, fuel and their other potential derivative products);
Environmental studies related to clean and renewable energy-based power plants (including waste);
Assistance and provision of facilities and expertise needed by villages to develop business fields that have been determined through BUMDes; and
Developing and implementing communication strategies and involving parties to support the development and replication of BUMDes that have successfully developed the predetermined business fields.
